HISTORIC HOMES
Many of the homes in Citronelle were built in the late 1800's. The refurbished antebellum style has preserved the Civil War Era and the history of our country. These homes are located in the heart of town, and walking tours are given during the most pleasant times of the year. During Christmas, many of the homes are elegantly decorated and open for tours. You must see these homes to appreciate their Southern roots.

MILL CREEK GOLF COURSE AND COUNTRY CLUB

One of the most popular attractions in Citronelle is the Golf Course. Surrounded by a beautiful lake, the course is nestled in the woods of Citronelle. It is also in need of more homes.  The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable - perfect for a game of golf.

CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT
While you are in Citronelle, enjoy a reenactment of the last Confederate surrender of the Civil War. The annual re-enactment brings families and visitors together at the local Boy Scout Camp to witness a portrayal of the events that occurred at "Surrender Oak". Dressed in full uniform, soldiers from the Union and Confederate Armies meet for the last time in victory and defeat.

RAILROAD MUSEUM
Citronelle was founded in the 1800's. The Mobile and Ohio Railroad was responsible for bringing about the development of the small town. Citronelle became of the hottest resorts in the country during that time because of its natural healing springs. Transportation to Citronelle; however, was difficult until the railroad made its way through town. Today, the railroad museum, which is the original station built in 1903, serves as a reminder of how Citronelle became established as a small town in the South.
